Re: Could Dallas land Amazon HQ '2'?

There's no way we can compete on urban experience with the major US cities. We don't even have regular retail downtown. What I have noticed though, is a lot of people coming back from having lived in NYC and LA for several years, and really liking Dallas, not to mention people from smaller or compar...

Nice to see this area cleaned up and renovated. It would be cool if the alley way had small shops/cafes like Melbourne's laneways.

The cool thing about Royal Blue is that they're also a coffee shop/cafe. Last time I was in Austin, they stayed open pretty late, and you could still sit down and get a sandwich and coffee. This will be pretty good to have downtown on the weekends.

Legacy West reminded me of The Shops at Parklane, where everything is facing inward, surrounded by massive parking garages. It would've been cool if they could've connected with Shops of Legacy. I went for lunch time, and overall a pleasant experience. Still, after reading all the articles, I was ex...

345 is still such a barrier between DE and DT, especially at Elm, Main and Commerce. The only somewhat good connection is on Canton Street. Lately, if my friends and I are at Farmer's Market, we'll walk over to DE, cross at Canton, and it's actually pretty enjoyable.

In the renderings, they've included the space between the museum and the masonic temple to be developed, which is cool. It also looks like they made Park Ave pedestrian-only. I'm not sure if this means The Stewpot will move their services to another street.

I think it's great that it's next to Butler Brothers and it's taking over a surface lot. I'm a little over brand-new mid-century, but if the materials used are of good quality, then it will be fine. I wonder though if this area can support the ground-floor retail.

Yeah, decreasing the size of the walls would be the best thing to make it more inviting, especially on the Bryant St. side. Other than that, lighting would help. It gets really dark at night. Not sure if this would be a quick fix or not, but just maintaining the shrubs on the periphery.
