Re: Downtown Dallas: Butler Brothers Building
/\ I love historic buildings but frankly at the point it was deemed too damaging to the building to restore it to the original i would rather have seen it demolished. What we have now is just as ugly as it was before and will do little for the street life. But we know that more than likely if this ...

Re: West Dallas Developments
I'd still say it's the least desirable location of any of the areas getting a significant number of new units. If these projects end up performing well despite the upcoming wave of completions, this real estate boom still has plenty to go. Are you referring to this area being "least desirable&...

Re: West Dallas Developments
It's very much an "If you build it they will come situation." None of the other emerging alternatives to Uptown are so isolated and devoid of amenities or retail-- not DD, DE, Ross or Henderson-Fitzhugh. And it's very much an island bounded by the tracks and I-30 with no outlet between Be...

Re: Trump Hotel Concept / SCION
Research Mike Sarimsakci, he is full of shit, I wouldn't believe the Trump hotel or any of the other publicity seeking announcements he has made in the past were actually happening if they were assembling the tower crane. I don't see why have overly negative criticism for a developer who is actuall...

Re: Arts District: 1900 Pearl (362 FT | 25 ST)
You guys are missing a key issue: parking requirements. I certainly agree that even without parking requirements, developers would still provide a lot of parking in Dallas buildings because of tenant demand. But I bet there'd be less. The precise 3.0/1000 ratio of 1900 Pearl screams "meeting z...

I don't believe this is the final design since the article states that 5G studios will be designing the project and this rendering is definitely not 5G quality.

I believe it will also pull millennials who work in the northern burbs who would l...

Although it be cool and ambitious for the hospital to be converted to residential, I feel that the best use would definitely be office or a hospital expansion. And BTW I've heard Children's name thrown out the too as a possible buyer although I'm not positive how much truth there is to that.

Re: Arts District: 1900 Pearl (362 FT | 25 ST)
Why is it that everyone seems so shocked by a garage being added in the base. In Chicago either all or most new buildings have garages and even if they don't they usually have contracts with garages in other buildings because most people only ride the train for convenience and to save money. If some...

I don't know anything about this area, but it at least has the stop spacing of a legitimate public transit system. Also, it's not along a highway, meaning that at least in theory you can not only actually build around the stations, but also walk to/from them reasonably. Imagine that. Although see w...

Re: Dallas: Medical District
Looks fine along Hudnall, but the surface parking between it and DART is less than appealing. Whole project feels a little underutilized and not exactly "transit-oriented" development. I think most developers use the term "transit-oriented" only to mean that their project is wal...

Las Colinas is knocking... Corner of O'conner & Las Colinas blvd pls. But, I also like the idea of Dallas CBD. That parking lot where the BofA plaza twin was supposed to go would be sweet. Interesting... I also thought a third Skyhouse would be a good high-rise residential kick off for Midtown.
