There's never been a fatality on the technology that will be used here. Cant say that for Chinese tech or any other system in use.

So, it looks like the Dallas PCC, 612, is going back in to storage or scrap and the Toronto PCC car, 4614, that was in the shop is coming back from storage for restoration. *sign* I knew something was up... :-( I will add a PCC car to my list of things I want to see before I die... along with lakes...

Maybe because the argument has been that only Houston and Dallas will benefit from this. I think some of the opposing counties are pretty close to Houston correct? This could reframe it as a more regional benefit?

When Victor Gruen designed the first shopping mall in the 50's the original design incorporated neighborhoods where we now have parking lots.

I don't think it is the rail alone... it is the placement of the rail along a street between two sidewalks that are very close to the trains.
