Great! Will be interesting to see how much the HP side of the Trail complains about another "high rise" on the Dallas side. There's no official entrance there for the trail either so this would be a great add.

If you're willing to live in a flood plain, you better have good flood insurance...Houston does not have strong flood mitigation, mostly due to the urbanized flat terrain and low elevation. A lot of neighborhoods have the houses higher than the roads, so that the roads flood first. I'm sure these ne...

HEB is known to squat on land just to keep competitors out. When I moved out of College Station they had a vacant grocery store on a main drag that they had no plans to move into at the time, but it forced out an Albertsons. They are in no rush to give up that land/build/open a store.

The Houston and Austin CBD have always "felt" smaller than Dallas CBD, so it feels like they need to build up instead of out like they can in Dallas. In reality the loop around downtown Dallas (bounded by 35-30-366-348) is about 6 miles while the loop around downtown Houston is slightly le...

I didn't say they would. The city just wants something to replaced an outdated strip mall. I wouldn't expect anything more than the bare minimum from a company that operates almost exclusively out of big box strip malls.

I may be overestimating the average sizes of Total Wines but this is a pretty long and narrow lot. Wonder if they could build a long, narrow store with an underground garage. Easy foot traffic access and can still have a large store without compromising parking in a super car-centered area.

Man, between M Line Tower, Ascent, Victory Place, 23, The Katy, and Ardan all finishing up and having rents in excess of 2000/month, you have to wonder how much these will all fill during summer leasing.
