Re: DALLAS to HOUSTON High Speed Rail
now that DMN is moving to the Statler i would love to see them redevelop the DMN Site as the downtown train station. It would be simple to then connect it to the DART Rail lines. But, I see a lot of real estate up side for a station in the Cedars.

Re: Deep Ellum: Case Building
Was in Deep Ellum this past weekend- Man things are really rolling - tons of people lots of new businesses. Somehow the city has got to build a Parking Garage for this area. Seems like between the increased property value on the current parking lots and the parking revenue this could be justified. I...

I don't know there is something about shopping that can't really be replicated online... Personally i find online shopping very tiring -- but sometimes the convenience of it just can't be matched. It will be interesting to see how this all changes over time. I would not be surprised to see tesla/app...

True -- we don't even have the train between Dallas and Houston yet. One Mountain at a time.

Re: Grocery Stores: news/development
I fear they will just re-do the store and move in. Can't say i blame them but I sure would love to at least see them front the store on McKinny to improve the continuity of the pedestrian connection to West Village. That's probably the best we can hope for... if they are really far sighted then perh...

Re: Arlington: Mass Transit
I just don't see them doing anything with mass transit at all. They have the stadiums they want and seems to not have much voter desire for mass transit. I really don't see how the HSR would work. Having ridden the bullet train in Japan the comparison would be like flying from Love Field to an airpo...

Re: Cityplace ACS/Xerox redevelopment
I very much hope the Zoning becomes a moot point as the value of the land increases and they watch better developments built all around them. the City and TC should be able to reach an agreement that allows the Sams club but designed for an urban setting. The idea of a street car spur down haskel so...

Re: Trinity River Park
If NTTA pulls out of this then surely this can finally move forward. I really like the new plan that seems to solve some of the big problems with the previous plans. Taking the road out should simplify everything.

Re: Fair Park
Yes, i would have to agree -- Fair Park seems like the obvious choice. Another good option would be in front of City Hall the Plaza and the Convention center -- all walking distance to many hotels. They must have considered Fair Park - how could you not - I wonder what the reason was for not using i...

Re: Fair Park
I can't quite figure out how this non-profit will make money -- i don't see the same logical connection that exist with the Zoo. But, If the City will at least tie the money it gives to the non-profit to how many people visit the park then i think we will at least be in a better spot then we are now.

/\ sorry you were not able to figure out what i was talking about -- I should have been more specific but could not think of the name... it's I-345 -- its a shot in the dark but I don't see the Trump Administration supporting public transit (i could be wrong who knows what they will do)

Was just walking the dog along the new Ridgewood trail from Mockingbird Station to White Rock lake... They are finally putting the last bits of the trail in... Looks like about 50 more feet to go and it will be complete. And, looks like they are hard at work on the bridge over Mockingbird.

Re: Victory Park 3.0
Truth be told... The arena served as jumper cables to the neighborhood. Without, it would have taken much, much longer to get to where it is. That said... Once your car is running, you take off the jumper cables and throw them in the trunk. At this point, I think VP would be solid with or without t...

Re: Dallas Area Rapid Transit
If public transit ends up taking a back seat over the next few years to roads and cars perhaps this will be a good opportunity to seek funding to submerge the above ground highway connecting I45 to I75.

Re: Fair Park
I don't think the State Fair has been as big an issue to use of Fair Park as the Park Department leads us to believe. The reality is there is NO programing at Fair Park on a regular basis -- hence no reason for anyone to go. The State Fair seems to me is a scapegoat for the park department not creat...
