My guess would be based on this rendering the new terminal F would be for the 737 and A320 mainline planes freeing up all the gates at terminal D for the heavy/super planes. I feel like Oak Lawn has people who think an empty lot would bring congestion. I don't live in Oak Lawn, but I drive in it frequently. I don't find Oak Lawn traffic to be any worse than other parts of Dallas.

It was the 90s I was a kid living there at the time. They even had a big contest to local artists for designs on the metal sculptures at the top of the support columns. Each column has a different sculpture.

My guess is TXDOT had issues with the previous design. With them designing and soon...ish starting a re-do on the I-30 canyon. Also, the parking lot where the new design is going to go is less expensive to build on. I liked the previous design better, but that's just me.

Money should be spent to rebuild the downtown section as an elevated line so that train traffic does not interfere with cars. That would help speed up train traffic. 100% agree or trench it. I curious about that too. Can't the developer just ignore the OLC since they don't have permit power? I get they can pressure the council, but from what I can tell they have no actual power to stop a development is that correct? My guess is the OLC is able to wield significant power of their council...

I don't know a downtown of a major North American city where homelessness isn't an issue. I've never felt unsafe at anytime downtown.

Man OLC has some sway to it I guess. This building looks really nice and would be a great addition to our skyline. I can't even get curbs put in on my block and they can stop a high rise. Must be nice!

Dallas is finally starting to grow south, but more so suburbs than city itself. I see DFW turning more into a LA than a Houston long term. Another thing to keep in mind is there a lot of new apartments built or soon to be built in North Oak Cliff / West Dallas. The nearest Target to us in North Oak Cliff is CityPlace and the nearest Walmart is Cockrell Hill. Both are not the best. I would love a Target just across the bridge.

Highly doubtful. Most of the airports you mentioned are restricted by space. ORD/IAH/DFW are not as restricted as there is a lot of space for new facilities that can be constructed easier, cheaper, and quicker. Apparently TXDOT wants to add rail service between the TX triangle cities. So instead of letting a privately funded efficient rail line solve this issue we will get a publicly funded Amtrak at the mercy of a freight train. I want to make a political joke here but I'll bite my tongue.
