I'd love to see Southland Life/Sheraton lit up again. But AFAIK they ripped out everything when they renovated it in the 80's. The cost of re-wiring it from scratch would be ridiculous. As for Republic, IIRC they updated the "rocket" lighting sometime in the 90's. The problem there is that...

^ The implosion of the old Hyatt -- where Terminal D now sits -- was originally scheduled for September 16, 2001. It was delayed until October 7th for obvious reasons. There were also some delays due to design changes due to 9/11.

The residents choose to live there because they don't have to follow city building codes, follow city laws or pay city taxes. But they want city services -- just as long as they don't have to pay for them.
