This space was always busy and had people hanging out front all of the time. This must be a rent increase issue that drove them out. I thought it was a great part of the whole scene at the village it will be missed there.

It is past time to abandon Oak Lawn Committee and PD for entire area ( all it does is keep this area locked into a 1950,s low density model). 800 plus more people living right there will help support the restaurants and stores in that area. I say build baby build so I don't have to drive to Lovers and 75 to go to Central Market anymore.

It also is a great infill spot that could have sat as empty land for years but now has a residential building at a DART station instead of land so I am grateful for this building.

Not sure how having a Chipotle and a Jimmy Johns is standoffish or elitist. It is expensive to live there but to visit it is serviced by DART and TRR directly so good public accessibility. I also find it very active when I walk down there.

I think they have to go before the city council and make their case with them. Hopefully the Oak Lawn Committee members will not show up and insert themselves with the falsehoods and misinformation they did last night with zoning.

The Zoning commission did not approve this last night mainly due to input from the anti urban anti density anti growth Oak Lawn Committee. They approved a giant project along McKinney Ave. similar in size that butts directly into a historic area but did not approve this. Very frustrating. https://ww...

I will accept anything they can do and get done between the bridges and hope they get real estate up and down on both sides of the Trinity. The utilization and monetization of that place is almost zero so anything would be better than nothing at this point.

What a joke that section of land is. A freestanding pharmacy a single retail strip center on the other side and now a gas station across from the pharmacy. That entire block section should by high rise. This isn't even worthy of suburban use much less urban.

I am looking forward to the day when all of the street level retail restaurant is fully leased up on all of these buildings both downtown and across the park in Uptown. There is so much empty space at the street level in these developments. I am glad it is here and brings people living in that area.

I think the problem with that entire city block is that the real estate is owned in pieces by various trust and individuals so it is difficult to piece together the whole block into one large urban development like what they are going to do with Central Market. Not sure how this block will ever come...

If we could get just one tower built on this side of the river I really think it would ignite several more both residential and office over the long run. Imagine what a difference it would make to have some height along this side to balance some of the other side.

This is just what we needed to reenergize the urban core when Covid restrictions end along with the other parks going in and around downtown. I still think we can use more living around this entire area especially on the downtown CBD side.

I would love to see downtown become an urban living space for the entire region. With DART and the streetcars and the walkability it would be great. Someday it could thrive enough to bring offices back into the fold and be a fully realized urban center.

I saw people this morning at Cedar Springs and Oak Lawn taking selfies in front of the sign. I do think the strip from Oak Lawn to Douglas does feel much more cohesive. I just wish we could go midrise and get rid of the strip centers still left. This area needs more density for living.

I have to say I did not ride the scooters due to age but I liked seeing everyone using them downtown and I think it made downtown much friendlier to tourist and younger people living there. It brought an energy to the downtown uptown area that I think we will miss especially while still under Covid ...

Went to Jaxon at Lunch today expected almost no one to be down there as it was Monday and hot. There were a few people eating and walking around the Discovery District.
