For sure, I don't know it needs to be redeveloped right this second. I was more responding to the portion of the article that mentioned the wrecking ball. I don't personally feel there's any reason this building needs to *not* be replaced.

Wild About Harry's had to leave their spot because it too was about to be redeveloped. I think the proposed mixed use development on this corner is happening sooner rather than later.

I used to work at CompuCom there years ago, when the golf course was converted into the current neighborhood. A denser neighborhood center with retail and condos would be great there.

There were Coach signs on the front of the old 7-11 on Monday so maybe that's the short term use, but this is eventually going to be knocked down as part of that larger mixed-use project on the site.

The parking lot they're referring to is the long, narrow one right on Ross (yes, it's the one you're thinking of).

The buildout for rental units isn't the same as what it would be for condo units so it's not so much about the building being new or old; it's what generally seems to happen during an apartment-to-condo conversion.

My recollection was that the "tallest" tower you're speaking of was going to be at Payne and Caroline streets. Not sure whether or not that was #12 though.

As others have surely seen, Warby Parker is moving into the newly renovated space next to Tecovas. This probably doesn't mean much for the big Henderson Ave development, but who knows? Maybe they need the existing tenants out before they can start work...

Agreed. Something's not right about this and what's particularly concerning is that with Open Realty owning most of Henderson Ave, if this development isn't happening then one should assume practically nothing will be happening (from a development standpoint) along Henderson.

The plan was for Henderson Ave to be rebuilt along with the new Open Realty development, so until the development is developed, Henderson through there is going remain as is.
