For sure, I don't know it needs to be redeveloped right this second. I was more responding to the portion of the article that mentioned the wrecking ball. I don't personally feel there's any reason this building needs to *not* be replaced.

I wonder which spot Mi Cocina will snag on McKinney. He mentions it is currently occupied by another restaurant. Maybe Bisous in One Uptown, where Le Cirque failed? There were Coach signs on the front of the old 7-11 on Monday so maybe that's the short term use, but this is eventually going to be knocked down as part of that larger mixed-use project on the site.

The parking lot they're referring to is the long, narrow one right on Ross (yes, it's the one you're thinking of).

Despite the Trammell Crow aspect of this, I'm still excited. Hopefully they knock down those apartments behind the church as well.

The buildout for rental units isn't the same as what it would be for condo units so it's not so much about the building being new or old; it's what generally seems to happen during an apartment-to-condo conversion.

My recollection was that the "tallest" tower you're speaking of was going to be at Payne and Caroline streets. Not sure whether or not that was #12 though.

It's all irrelevant since there's no room for a streetcar. A streetcar up and down Ross on the other hand would be pretty cool...

They did a great job on the former Emeralds to Coconuts structure's reconstruction. I'm excited to see what it'll become and thank goodness something new will be coming to the former Jake's space.
