I just hope this activates restaurant and retail between Olive and Leonard streets. The Arts District feels pretty dead most of the time.

I went a couple days after it opened. I thought the food was just ok as well. The dessert was just bad. We ordered the churros with ice cream. The churros were cold and stale. The atmosphere is nice though. I'll give it another chance though.

Speaking of Main Street Garden, I noticed that all of the shade structures along Main Street were cordoned off. I hope these get removed and better, hardier landscaping goes in.

Looks like the former Palm restaurant will become a Museum of Illusions starting in November. I'm not sure if it's long-term, but it looks to be similar in concept to the Sweet Tooth hotel. Hopefully this will generate more activity in the West End.

Oh yeah, food was really good. We just got pizzas at 400 Gradi, and everything tasted fresh. We just got cake and coffee at Royal Blue, and both were good as well.

I believe the entrance is on Houston Street facing the new garage. I walked by there this weekend, and realized that the pacific side of the building will be closed off by the concrete walls.

A few photos from this week. I really like the smaller tiles used for the sidewalk throughout the entire block. Seeing this up close is starting to make me think this really could make downtown into a destination (like KWP). I tend to be an optimist, so I may be wrong.

Not sure what the plan is, but it looks like it could be used as another open floor for the market, or the whole space could be divided up for retail. When I looked in, it was all empty space with no walls.

Hampton Inn/AC Hotel/Residence Inn garage: the east side of the garage entrance ground floor is for an indoor pool. Hopefully the Ervay side will get some neighborhood retail.
