Drove by the site for the first tower today and three construction vehicles were moving dirt behind the green fences. I couldn't tell to what the extent they were digging up the asphalt, but there's some kind of activity going on.

If Mark Cuban has his way, the Mavs will be building a new arena across Stemmons from the AAC, plus a casino and high rise hotel/resort, which may include multiple towers of varying height. The would really change this area. Of course, this may be a pipedream by Cuban.

Why all of the hand ringing about this situation in the Design District? The area is in transition and frankly, it's a good thing to see a once ugly warehouse district emerge as a vital area of the city. I don't know why Dilliards doesn't relocate to the Galleria's old Marshall Field's anchor spot. It makes total sense. Maybe Neimans would want to land there if Willow Bend bites the dust.

What market position will this hotel hold? Is it as fancy as the Ritz and Mansion? Thompson? ZaZa? When is ZaZa going to expand?
