There was a beautiful shopping center right in the center of Salt Lake City when I went there.

Something like that would do great on the north side of downtown. Bonus points if it were connected to Klyde Warren Park with that weird cat-walk extension they announced a while back.

Wow this is massive, would love to see this happen. I would like to see retail in the base of these buildings. As the density is substantially increasing in these neighborhoods it makes much more sense to start providing neighborhood amenities that are accessible by foot.

What does the forum feel about losing places such as Black Friar and Renfields? It seems inevitable with One Uptown (Former Hard Rock site) essentially a beer bottle toss away. But in my opinion some of these places are what gave Uptown it's charm as a destination in the first place...

It will probably be a fortress closed off to outsiders. Mckinnon or Harry Hines need to be narrowed if Harwood ever wants to become a walkable area, but that will never happen because those roads are practically expressways for people to DNT.
