Milam does provide an important role. Many of the children attending Milam have parents who work in service sector jobs in Uptown but live elsewhere. DISD has a program in place that provides parents the ability to drop off their kids at Milam close to their places of employment.

Dallas taxpayers already voted for the bridge to connect the Katy Trail to the Design District. The people advocating for that now have to figure out if the sales pitch they sold voters is valid. News that I-35 will likely be expanded and/or double decked would likely kill that plan and push funding...
