I believe all these developments would have eventually occurred, but the Streetcar definitely helped speed things along. Perhaps once these projects are completed, we will see an increase in riders on the streetcar which, hopefully, will lead to some new development near the Union Station in the CBD...

All good stuff, but like everyone else I feel like Downtown is perpetually on the cusp. Uptown started with some entrepreneurial developers taking chances in State Thomas. That same breed is taking chances again in West Dallas, East Ross, Henderson and the Design District. I like all of those plays...

What are the chances of it actually leaving though? I'm pretty sure there is a similar one in Chicago that is sitting on some very valuable land, and if Chicago can't redevelop that McDonald's, then Dallas has no chance.

Can't wait to see what becomes of this mall. Plano is still in high demand, and this is a huge plot of land just waiting to be redeveloped. Perhaps 75/Bush has the potential to become the next DNT/121 intersection.

Interesting. I own a unit in the Renaissance, and I remember a year ago there were talks about some sort of development here. There was a lot of pushback because it's so close to the Renaissance and way too tall and dense for such a small lot.

Thanks for the pictures! I had some friends visiting from out of town, so I actually took them on a walking tour through Uptown, Downtown, and a bit of Bishop Arts. Unfortunately the day was a bit dreary and businesses were closed because of Christmas eve, so the city wasn't that lively today.

Very odd that they face the deadest part of the site, and ignore the plaza and Houston St where the action is. I bet whoever designed this did not even bother to visit the location. Wow, I had no idea a 7-11 opened there. That's definitely promising news. I know many would say it's 'just' a 7-11, but I recall 7-11 was also in the CBD way before a lot of the new retail starting coming back, so I see it as the start of something much better.
