I personally would still prefer to see a Starbucks go on the other side of the street, at Williams Square. It would really liven up both sides of the Boulevard and provide much more of a city atmosphere.

There was a beautiful shopping center right in the center of Salt Lake City when I went there.

Something like that would do great on the north side of downtown. Bonus points if it were connected to Klyde Warren Park with that weird cat-walk extension they announced a while back.

Wow this is massive, would love to see this happen. I would like to see retail in the base of these buildings. As the density is substantially increasing in these neighborhoods it makes much more sense to start providing neighborhood amenities that are accessible by foot.

What does the forum feel about losing places such as Black Friar and Renfields? It seems inevitable with One Uptown (Former Hard Rock site) essentially a beer bottle toss away. But in my opinion some of these places are what gave Uptown it's charm as a destination in the first place...

Wow, if Little Mexico were to be developed in to several 10-15 story mixed-income towers that would be huge. Dallas is in desperate need of more centrally located affordable housing. Because housing the poor in clusters of high-rise buildings has worked so well in all the other cities that tried it...
