"Corporate dorms" Wish my college dorm was as nice as what they are building. I didn't have AC and that was in 2005. Could be worse I think Dallas City Hall or Burnett Tower in Ft. Worth are ugly. They remind me of soviet architecture, but that's my opinion. I think this building not only ...

Re: Trinity River Park

I'd be happy with more trees. It's just like a big ugly grass line. Maintenance wise it's easy (which is probable the point) but in the summer it's hot and more shade along the river and paths would be nice. It doesn't have to central park there is more an opportunity than what they have currently I...

Re: Trinity River Park

Doesn't the Army Corps want to redo this area any to improve water flow and flooding mitigation? Having grown up in St. Louis surrounded by large rivers the Trinity feels more like a creek. I don't fully understand why such a huge flood plain was built, but seems like an area ripe for a re-do. Playi...

I thought that for years now. Dallas needs the light rail for intra/inter city travel and heavy rail, like Chicago's MARTA, to places like McKinney, Frisco, Terrell, Waxahachie.

One Sette was only to last 3 years. Not sure what or if Covid has done to that timeline. The developer basically was sitting on the property, and in the mean time is making money of the place while they wait.

There was talk of a Ross Ave streetcar which would run from Downtown up to Lowest Greenville 10-15 years ago. That plus a larger complete streets project would be amazing. Who are these people? The only thing in this area is light industrial or apartments. Kessler Park is on the other side of 30 and this building wouldn't impede their views (if they have one). Anyone have any idea when they plan on building the three new underpasses in the area under the UPRR tracks? Beckley & Sylvan are as wide as they can go now. Dream world scenario would have the street car go from Sylvan 30 along Commerce through downtown and up Ross to Lower Greenville.

The 1050 is above sea level. The 1050 takes into account the location's height above sea level. Very very basic reason is airplanes use sea level as a fixed point for heights. My guess is this permit is speculative.
