Personally, I don't see the Hunts moving forward on this development, HSR or not. The Convention Center will have to show that Dallas is still a destination city for conventions. Not surprising. This guy gets a lot of black ink for blue sky dreams. NewPark will never happen. If there is a new convention center, I suspect other interests & developers will build in the same general vicinity. He'll never break ground.

This section of Downtown is unique in that the Fairmont, Fountain Place, & DMA provide some fairly active foot traffic, yet the YMCA's building backs up to a large section of Downtown that is a sea of asphalt parking lots. It really isn't that inviting for developers. JMO.

Lemmon Avenue used to be a terrific street with all kinds of great shops, clubs, & eateries. It went through a big decline with abandoned buildings, cheap fast food, head shops, and overgrown lots. Maybe now is the time we'll see a renaissance along the street. The area would certainly support it.
