Saw this call to speak on a variable message sign going WB on 30 near Carroll. Of course TxDOT didn’t provide a link on the board, so I had to Google around until I found it. Deadline for input is August 22nd.

Whereas I understand why some would prefer minimizing the width of the interstate highway to make room for more or save more land for neighborhoods, TXDOT needs at the same time as much room as necessary for the safest highway possible. Balancing one over the other should not be in political debate...

It appears that on SB 635 side, new piers are already being placed to support the new ramps which will replace the highest flyovers. Half of the Galloway Ave bridge over 30 has been demolished while the new bridge is already being constructed. My biggest concern is going to be the atrocious exchange...

I noticed after the June 9th storms, most of the older structures (the green and rust colored poles usually with a curved arm) withstood the winds while the new structures (the silver L-shaped bars) had several lights that were either bent in several directions or completely blown off the structure.
