Yea as much as I want to believe in and am rooting for Mike Hoque, I'm not exactly holding my breath on SoGood or SMART District either. Would love to see my skepticism proven wrong.

Re: Deep Ellum: Epic ~ Knights of Pythias Temple

In one of the Rail/Transportation threads, it looked as if the entrance to the D2 subway had been shifted to allow development on this site, so maybe the rail won't be cutting through it. Now I’m confused because the original D2 portal was on Swiss, but the latest plan has it moved south between Sw...

Isn't Uber investing a bunch in their SF headquarters though? If that's the case, you'd have to think they'll be there for the foreseeable future. That plus the difference in engineering talent that still exists.

As Tnexster has said, I'm pretty sure this Chicago news is a separate deal than the contemplated expansion to Dallas. The headlines are coming at the same time and could be seen as contradictory. However, based on multiple sources, it seems they're a) growing their Chicago presence which necessitate...

Will be interesting to see what this does (if anything) to Hillwood's plans next door. Obviously Perot is in the "wealth preservation" stage, so wouldn't likely be building spec like Kaizen or the Union guys. On another note, could you picture what this area of downtown will look and feel ...

Initial plans for the first phase call for 750,000 square feet of office space, 50,000 square feet of retail space, and 300 multifamily units. The study that TX-DOT commissioned said that average drive times would only be increased by 3-5 minutes. You're not removing pathways but tearing down the highway. A working plan would be to replace it with two sizable, street-level boulevards. Plus you have the other streets (i.e. the grid) that ca...

W.r.t. restaurants, I think a lot of the Union's momentum (at least with The Henry and North Italia) has to do with the developer knowing the guy behind Fox Restaurant Concepts (both based in Phoenix). No idea if the Park District is taking awhile or if this is normal.
