I hope the hotel can get past the initial sight-seer/interested-gawker stage. It may take the owners/developers a *while* to make their money back. The website photos of the interiors really look nice. I wouldn't mind a couple of those green guest room chairs.

Well, it only took 56 1/2 years, but drivers have no more dead-man's-curve to put up with. The new westbound lanes of US 175 are open all the way to I-45, as of this morning :!: :!: :!:

Great to finally see it done. I guess it's another case of better-late-than-never.

Heavier trucks cause ruts and bumps to occur on asphalt over time, especially at intersections. That doesn't occur with concrete.

And before it flipped to Marriott, it was a Westin hotel for a time. But TNWE, you are somewhat correct as it was the first downtown property that Marriott had that was branded as a Marriott--not as one of the other brands under their umbrella.

I found a feet/stories online converter, and it says 830 feet = 76.66 stories. If that's true, wouldn't that beat BoA and the tallest in Houston also?
