Very excited for development here, since this is my neighborhood, but the "rejuvination" of the strip center has pushed out my favorite wine bar, Veritas. Apparently they just bought it and immediately doubled the rent. Not cool.

Re: DTD: The National/Thompson Hotel (1401 Elm)
I think the viewpoint is valid and not just hating. Dallas still lacks the streetlife that makes people feel safe. When you walk out of your hotel, look to the right and left. Which direction devoid of shops and restaurants should you take? With no tight-knit urban fabric,"luring" you to ...

As someone who lives in the downtown are and walks/bikes around here frequently (with my family of 4), I have to disagree with the highways being the problem. There are tons of cities that have highways that run between their urban areas and don't stop foot traffic. In fact, I'm in Milwaukee right n...

The Farmer's Market definitely operates as a Third Place for me and my family. The Matthews/Southwest building -the galbraith - is online now. That's 217 more units delivered this year.
Did any of the farmer's market apartment buildings deliver this year? Or the Hall Arts building? I think all of those plus the East Quarter would get close to 1,000 units added.
