Normally I would say lease that land to the city and have them manage it and create a park with trees and open air grass fields, but given the fact that Dallas can’t even address alleys and streets with a modicum of competency, diligence, and timely completions with the use of our tax dollars, well ...

Yeah, okay, lots of new buildings but nothing stands out as better than what was built in the 80s. For example, the folks that designed AMLI as Fountain Place’s little brother just made something derivative (and maybe the best of the 20 years lot). Having a true twin and following up with the origin...

Not just bland but straight up ugly. Our architecture, in some sense, reflects nihilism if not some vague utilitarianism benefiting the current developer/architectural zeitgeist.

This is absolutely weak. There is nothing "centerpiece" about it, IMO. We need a serious return to the past for inspiration or something very different in the current Modernist bent we're experiencing. Interestingly though, it looks like there are sky-bridges on every other floor connectin...

This reminds me of the Perot museum. Ugly as sin. Long for sleek, taller, revival styles of bygone days, which appear to be deemed worthless by many of architects today. Brutal looking modern architecture reigns the day. My two cents.

I think the building will look fine on the northern part of the skyline, but certainly not a stand-out by any means. For a Hines development it appears sub-par by their own standard. I wish the height was a solid 500 feet (or taller) as that would help "sleek" out the boxiness. Also, I don...
