That makes sense. I looked back at the plans and was bummed to see the road surface is going to be asphalt, rather than concrete. Agreed. It needs a concrete resurfacing! How come? Two reasons for me. First is the heat impact as noted above. Asphalt traps more heat and is not as pedestrian friendly...

I think you're right, unfortunately. The rumor already was that it was a rezone-and-flip but without buyers, this (much less desirable outcome) isn't happening either anytime soon. My biggest problem with Blewett and all the other hypocrites on the council is they have no problem saying yes to mid rise buildings as long as it's not in their district. I definitely have higher hopes for the pub, especially if it turns into a legitimate neighborhood spot to watch soccer. We'll see about 77 degrees, Dallas just seems to cycle through hot spots like that fairly quickly.
