I think this line will eventually exceed expectations. The North Dallas neighborhoods are happily vapid, rebuke change of any sort and will one day undergo a gentrification of the mindset while the build environment changes just a little. The trains will be full even after the line is double tracked...

Doesn't seem to be enough people and/or business travel from all of Oklahoma let alone OKC to get the for-profit HSR trains looking that way. Connecting San Antonio and Austin to Dallas, for sure.

I still think this place will a successful run simply because it is not like the rest of the neighborhood. Deep Ellum has been made great again (haha), and the tight collection of party bars is a big part of the appeal, but not all those types of bars should be designated for Deep Ellum.

When the CBD had 250 residents and the city started working to rebuild the downtown, 10,000 residents was the threshold of a sustainable marketplace. Now we should be looking at 25,000 as the threshold of a thriving marketplace and 50,000 CBD residents is a marketplace that starts trends.
