While I agree that this is not some big improvement worthy of an "atta boy," I don't think it'll do too much to hinder the pedestrian experience here. There shouldn't be a constant flow of car traffic in/out of this driveway. Even if there was decent traffic, you experience plenty of this...

This project is now called Alpha West. They've made substantial progress (sorry no photos) and I just found these new renderings. I think this will be a really good development for the North Dallas area!

Thanks for the pics! To me, this is one of the most exciting projects in years in Dallas. The height, the homage to Fountain Place, and its place in the skyline are significant. Can’t wait to see it rise, and hopefully the Hillwood Tower next door after that.

Some photos from last Saturday. What I gathered from the construction guys I spoke with, the restaurant space should be complete by this summer and the office building shortly thereafter. They're shooting to have the residential portion open by the end of the year as well.

A developer is building retail and restaurant space on the NW corner of Davis and Vernon. Not sure I scaled the drawing correctly, but it looks like it'll complement that block very nicely, with the bonus of a patio. This building is actually starting to look a LOT better with that glass up on the parking garage. You really can't even tell the bottom half is parking. I think it will turn out to be a decent looking building, not great.

This looks like a 1980's building that belongs at Keller Springs and the tollway. Even that wouldn't have this much parking!
