Re: Downtown Dallas: 400 Record Street

They have put LED lights around the giant rectangular window on the east facing top floor of this building. Looks pretty good at night, very similar to the lit square on one arts plaza.

residential - 20 floors of residential + 5 floors of parking garage = 25 floors

office tower - 10 floors of office + 5 floors of parking garage = 15 floors

Spice in the city - restaurant inside DP&L - finally got Commerce St signage this week. Should help increase their customer base.

Re: Downtown Dallas: AC Hotel and Residence Inn by Marriott (Mercantile Commerce Building/1712 Commerce St)

I'd love to see the lot behind Dalpark, next to Interurban Building get developed into something vertical (not a parking garage). That would be the game changer. There's really no point in putting any hope in new-build project on this side of town though. The low hanging fruit of remodeling old buil...

They should really just change Jackson Street to Parking Street, because it honestly has more parking spaces than any other street in the CBD.

I agree, the tract has stood in its current state for some time, but once they got the piers drilled and rebar in place, it seems to be moving along now. Anyone know if their are plans for ground level retail? dry cleaners? or is this just going to be the standard downtown parking garage.

I agree with the two seats statement. Google earth measurements put the Akard sidewalk at 10-12 ft wide, so that would be a more reasonable concept.

Saint Louis architect Preston Bradshaw's Baker Hotel is the hipped-roof brown one peeking out. That's where Whitacre Tower is now. ^^ With Uptown filling out, I can see vertical density take a huge spark in the Knox-Henderson area, as well as Deep Ellum.
