Re: North Dallas: Park Central
I don't understand why Dallas doesn't build multi-level parking garages at retail locations. The only one I can think of is the Walmart-Sam's Club near NW Hwy. When I visit South Florida, there are Publix and Whole Foods with parking garages and they look alright. Costco with their near infinite res...

I was in Toronto this weekend the the city is just like this - old facade with newer everything else behind & above. I this this reno looks fine.

Re: Restaurants: general news/development
I drove by the Cane Rosso at Hillcrest Village today. It finally looks to be open. Haven't seen this development in person, but the pictures look pretty great! Hopefully other developers can get creative and convert some other dated strip malls into something similar to this. I suppose the key with...

I don't like the layout of the project but sure do like the height. This thing will tower over the immediate vicinity. With a 6/1/22 construction start date, does this mean that structures there will be demolished before then?

Re: Deep Ellum 1.0
I like this rendering. It could use more brick though. I like the mix of old and new in Deep Ellum, similar to what we would find in London and NYC. The neighborhood is evolving and this is not a bad thing. The old has attracted the new and the neighborhood will be better for it. It can't live in th...

I wish the wall in front of the Dallas Symphony that fronts Pearl Ave would get torn down. It would open up the Symphony's plaza area to a view of this tower and the rest of the Arts District and downtown. The Symphony would certainly look more inviting. I walk on the sidewalk next to this wall all ...

Re: Deep Ellum: The Stack - 2700 Commerce
I love this! Commerce already gets a lot of action, but The Stack is going to be a big visual draw pulling people on Main and Elm to walk over in that direction. Now if we could narrow Commerce, widen the sidewalks, and add more trees that would be fantastic.

Maple-Routh Connection and Woodall Rodgers
The empty field at this intersection behind the Comerica bank is fenced off with a few pickup trucks in there. There was a blue billboard sign at the intersection with what looked to be the City of Dallas logo on it, but I was driving past it and couldn't tell what it said. I couldn't find anything ...

There is certainly work being done on this site. My office window looks directly over the site from 2100 Ross. I see the construction crane moving all day long, trucks and machinery pushing dirt, and whistles being blown. The noise can be distracting at times. It has been raining a lot lately so tha...

I drove by this site today and it's clearly going vertical. Was there an official groundbreaking for this or did I miss something? This is such a high-profile project and I'm surprised there wasn't any press about its groundbreaking. I guess I want confirmation that this tower will rise and not be j...

I have a colleague who lives here and he was allowed to renew his least for another year and just did so two weeks ago. This paid parking lot is closed now with the entrances taped off. Crews are there now uninstalling the lighting poles. Looks like some dirt is about to start flying!
