Re: Arts District: Flora & Olive Tower (~441 FT / ~39 ST)
I wish the top row of the facade grid had increased to 6 storeys from 5, instead of decreasing to 4. A decrease to 4 makes it visually need a heavier cornice line to culminate the wall. Otherwise its composition will appear like it only ran out of steam, which is what it appears like right now. Ver...

Re: Downtown Dallas: AMLI Fountain Place (562 FT / 46 ST)
I’ve heard some disappointing rumors from FP building operations folks that the plan is to only cover two sides of the garage with glass: the side facing FP and the side facing Ross. Last I looked, only one glass panel is on the garage at this time. Why is this disappointing? The back of the garage...

Re: Lower Greenville Development
Leases are contracts. Every contract is negotiable. Your math is not stupid. Unless Wal-Mart thinks this property is so amazingly special there is no way they are paying full-bill on large numbers of closed properties (not even for a tax write off) without somebody up high questioning that decision...

Re: Could Dallas land Amazon HQ '2'?
What? Amazon does pay taxes, fox news (a registered entertainment network in court) and Trump aren't reliable sources of information. So, how about the Securities and Exchange Commission instead? "Additionally, in its latest annual report to the Securities and Exchange Commission, Amazon said ...

What a crock of crap! Is this the same work group that bluffed the world a mixed use, urban-pedestrian Citiplace Sam's Club then tried to deliver the exurban edge drive-thru boilerplate.... doing it again with the garage pedestal supporting a 250 key luxury hotel tower and a luxury residential towe...

Tear-downs is a problem in all sunbelt cities. Fascinating comment. Please elaborate further as to why you think this is unique to all sunbelt cities, whether this problem ever occurs in northern regions and, if not, why you think that is the case. When did they say it was a unique problem. They ju...

Re: Uptown Dallas: Business Openings and Closings
I haven't read the case, but that is interesting. Typically, under Texas law, the landlord puts lock on the door pretty quickly after failure to pay rent and eviction procedures are fairly simple. Hard to imagine a million dollars in damages... unless of course, the landlord let them operate for an...
