Agreed at this rate Austin is building taller buildings all the while having even less density than Dallas does. Until this corporate campus concept goes out of favor I am afraid we are stuck with stubbies.

Oddly if you look at the photo in D magazine it shows a car leaving the building to the street. Not sure where they would even park there they can't go underneath a freeway is down there.

Can't we just do some really nice tree plantings all between the two bridges and along the new trail paths that would bloom in the spring and change colors in the fall. Surely that could be done until we can come up a longer term plan or if we never do then at least it will be pretty and inviting do...

While I am glad to see this project do something at least we will see a nice new wall with some landscaping. Once again I have to wonder about the Oak Lawn Committee and any commitment to dense urban growth if they approved this layout.

Maybe finally West of Turtle Creek towards the tollway will see the high rises start to go up and density increase. I wish the vacant lot at Turtle Creek and Cedar Springs would start as it would go along way to connect that side of Oak Lawn to Uptown.

My favorite aspect about this is that it locked in a permanent structure that compliments and continues the vision for this development. Imagine if something had been built next to the original tower that had nothing to do with that architecture and style.

It is time for Dallas to develop a new plan for urban growth in and around downtown and become the leader for the entire region of this part of the US. Dallas City Center can offer what no suburb or other smaller city can offer the truly dense urban experience. Similar to this: https://archpaper.com...
