Hunt has owned this land since ‘97, and would be willing to bet the dirt and apartments have been paid off for a while. They have probably been stacking some cash from this property. That makes pretty favorable conditions for an ambitious project. This will be a home freakin’ run for them.

Is it just me or is the final product going to be a considerable deviation from the final renderings that were published? It doesn’t look like the horizontal/vertical ledges are there and will be mainly a glass exterior. Maybe I’m way off.

It’s all about timing with developments. This site is being developed to generate revenue. When the time is right, it will be prime for a higher and better use. A big mixed-use for this neighborhood doesn’t seem imminent.

Architecturally, more of the same cheap, assembly-line infill garbage that is going up everywhere. But it does bring critical mass which will help the neighborhood become walkable. So, all in all a win for Dallas.
