Re: AT&T Discovery District

I doubt they ever would, but I'd really like them to do something with One At&T Plaza. The area is nice but that wall has an unpleasant, imposing effect. A bit of artwork would go a long way. As much of a 'blank slate' that wall is, you would think something as simple as a projector throwing up...

Re: AT&T Discovery District

There’s a hint of Vegas in the middle of this project, anchored by the 104-foot-tall by 84-foot-wide “media wall” that Trampel says has a “higher resolution than Times Square.” It won’t be a place for AT&T to air advertisements for phones, however; it will use it as an art piece This is honestl...

Re: Deep Ellum: The Stack - 2700 Commerce

All the residential coming to DE is exciting, but i'm looking forward to The Stack the most. It'll make that immediate split between DE and Downtown appear to literally "vanish", similar to the Epic but on a smaller scale. And with that 17-story development in the East Quarter on the way,...

Re: KDC & Miyama Project - 30 ST

The existing wall isn't the problem, the problem is the designers effectively putting another wall on the street's other side. There's no reason the other side can't be a vibrant space that invites you to walk down it, this isn't a back alley. The side facing Harwood is also a towering flat surface,...

Re: KDC & Miyama Project - 30 ST

The street interaction is absolutely abysmal for something facing Dallas's best park space, just WOW. The overall aesthetic is fine, but this looks like it would be a colossal mistake and such a waste... is it too late to go back to the drawing board? If this was the aesthetic they're going for, at ...

Every time I drive by, it does not appear to be full. It looks especially strange being that it is a two-story area, so there's lots of temporary covering with two-dimensional greenery on it. It really does look strange. They probably should have held off on the second floors until they knew they c...

It sure does look like 2010s Dallas, for better and for worse. Reminds me a lot of what's gone up in Legacy.

This rendering is particularly optimistic with already putting an additional high rise on the other side of the portal.

Every time I see this place I almost can't get over how much of an eyesore that skybridge is. It's slanted, doesn't match the aesthetic of its buildings, and is laughably high off the ground.
Fortunately the view facing the Adolphus will be much better.

I'm curious to see how the west portal will impact the viability of future development on this parking lot. Doesn't seem very appealing to have a development flanked by a freeway on one side, an exit ramp on another, and this rather lengthy impassable portal on another. I would not be surprised if t...

A shame about the Deep Ellum station, but otherwise all very exciting stuff. Maybe losing the Deep Ellum station would be an incentive for us to get a streetcar line running the length of Main st? The whole space race in highrise height does nothing for making Downtown a safe and stable neighborhood of quality spaces with economic security. We need more infill that brings reside...

Re: Deep Ellum: Epic ~ Knights of Pythias Temple

A little concerned about this. With the amount of density this development is about to bring to that area, any investment put into 345 should be towards either tearing it down or burying it. This should be seen as a huge incentive to begin that process. Or as a huge confirmation that the project is...

Too bad about the museum. It would have been nice to have there, but I hope there are still plans for one somewhere in DFW. That tiny surface lot is such a waste.

And I wish the building was more monochrome. The horizontal brown accents clash with the window color and makes the building noisy to look at. I love the shape overall, though.

If Amazon theoretically did move into the VP spot I would love to see them somehow purchase the AA Center and put a park/plaza in its place as part of its campus. It would be an ideal spot for a nice open park that bookends Katy trail.

Absolutely. Portable Animal Crossing in HD would be a dream come true.

I'm counting on ports of Splatoon and Smash Bros, and I wouldn't blame Nintendo for putting them out considering how abysmal Wii U sales were.
