Demolition has finally started on the buildings at Hester and Mckinney for that apartment complex that still hasn't gotten its final designs approved by the Oak Lawn committee yet. RIP my old condo! All the development along Knox is exciting, but Knox always had a Main Street feel that made it unique. I think it'll be a cool street once all this is done, but it will have lost some cool vibes as well.

Yeah, I know it's a trite comment on this board to say, "I wish it were taller," but I can't help but say it. Harwood seems to do this over and over again. It's the same with the Amegy Bank tower - both are cool buildings, but they just look awkward because they seem unfinished or incomple...

Nice upgrade and they've clearly done a lot of leg work. That being said, this will replace a large supply of some of the more reasonably priced housing units in this area. If there is public money on the table (or frankly, even without it, given their need for zoning changes), they should be requir...

Yeah, nope. Do not like this project. It places a car drive, pull-in and valet area right on the corner of Cedar Springs and Maple. It looks like they will be adding trees to this site as well, which will vastly improve the appearance of the front of the hotel. The Cambria should consider utilizing the awnings as well, to really spruce up their site.

^Well, instead we are getting Harwood Park. Still not convinced that it's a good idea. Their plans look good, but b/c I spend M-F in this part of downtown, IMHO what we don't really need is another park 1 short block from Main St. Garden. Would rather see more in-fill.

I hate the idea of a CVS here. The only way I'd be ok with it is if they save and re-purpose the building. That way, at least some of this local history is preserved. I am definitely opposed to them tearing it down and putting up some awful suburban style CVS (helloooooo McKinney and Lemmon).

^That's not my impression of the Farmers Market downtown at all. We go regularly on Saturdays to buy staples, particularly locally raised meats - chicken, lamb, pork. There always seems to be a nice seasonal vegetable selection, including lots of small-time vendors from local farms.
