Will the National be adding retail to the base of the tower? I haven’t read anything about any retail being signed to this project. I remember old renderings adding national brands but haven’t heard anything since the new owners took it over. Hopefully they’ll be able to attract some stores that are...
The more I see this design, I dislike the base of the tower more and more. For such a prominent spot, you’d think it would be more welcoming. It looks so crammed in this spot.
Great news! The title says 'Dallas', but the text says 'North Texas' so I wonder exactly where they will end up. It is not known what the headquarters move will mean for CBRE's local offices, but sources suggest one possible location for a consolidation could be a recently proposed office tower at ...
^^ My favorite part of the article, AT&T Discovery District will offer FREE parking in the evenings in the employee parking garages. Gotta love that!! Yes!! Great to know. I know Uber is doing the same thing, so I'm so glad these developments are being smarter and not just letting their parking...
How is this going to play out now that Uber is planning on building around the lots that the rail is going to cut through? Are the business that are currently in place going to be torn down? It's a bit confusing because this plan is do dated that new buildings and business have gone up in the time t...
I was surprised when it was announced that it wasn’t mixed use. I can’t see this building ever getting off the ground as just office space. I hope they’re reworking their plan and it’s not dead.
https://www.dallasnews.com/business/real-estate/2019/10/21/historic-east-dallas-manufacturing-building-set-for-redo/ I can't wait to see how this turns out. I'm glad that this building is being converted instead of being demolished. I've always wanted to know the history of this building and now I k...
Has any official plans been released regarding the new tower? I've driven by and seen things move across the street. Looks like they're in the process of prepping the site.
Not a huge fan of this design. Dallas seems to only build boxy buildings with giant podiums. They should combine both office towers to one so we get something with more height. I understand we need parking but do we have to see it? I do know something is better than having empty lots. Just an opinion.
https://dallasinnovates.com/uber-taps-dallas-for-major-hub-at-the-epic-in-deep-ellum-bringing-3000-jobs/ Uber plans to occupy around 450,000 square feet in the second planned 23-story office tower, according to Westdale Real Estate Investment and Management, The Epic’s master developer. That tower i...
Uber Hub Confirmed for Dallas With 3,000 Jobs, $400 Million in Salary Nice video in the article below about vertiports for Uber Elevate https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/business/Uber-Hub-Confirmed-for-Dallas-With-3000-Jobs-400-Million-in-Salary-556881671.html On here it says that they bought the land ne...
If uber does open up an office at the Epic, I hope they build a platform on whatever building they build. I think that's what the new buildings will be adding as an amenity. Would be cool to see that in phase 2.
If Dallas lands Uber, I’m sure phase 2 will get started a lot sooner than later. It mentioned two more towers could be added. I wonder how tall they can go. I hope it’s all mixed use. More residential and office with retail. They’ve done a good job so far. Super excited about this news. Dallas needs...
Well, it's not Fireside Pies, but... Starbucks has been named as the tenant for the storefront by the Hampton Inn. The article doesn't give a timeframe for completion or opening. https://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/news/2019/05/07/starbucks-commerce-street-downtown-dallas.html Now if we could get th...
Do we have any new renderings? The one on the DMN seems a lot boxier than previous renderings. Maybe that's what the backsides suppose to look like. IDK.
Has there been any updates on the status of this project? This is now becoming a homeless camp area the past few weeks. I hope this doesn't become a tent city.
I drove by yesterday and it looks like they’re starting to remodel the entrance. It’s all blocked off now. There’s some picture at the parking garage. Anyone know what all is getting done?
What are they doing to the intersection of Elm and Harwood st? It's close to this but I see the sidewalks being expanded but don't know if there's something more to it than just wider sidewalks.
This project is never consistent. They have people working on it one day and the next few days nobody is on site. I don't understand that. No wonder this project is taking forever! Are they short on labor or something? Anyone have any info as to why the crew is seldom there?
