Re: East Side Downtown 42-Story Tower Proposed
I don't like how many supertall towers are in the 'proposed' stage at the moment. I agree, it does seem like at least one of them will come to fruition, but it makes me feel like the rest of them will just sit as being 'proposed' for a while and we're just stuck with the empty land for the time bein...

Re: Dallas Convention Center
That's a very good question.. honestly if you can't build over it ...what's the point? Although, single sstory street facing retail may be doable..which would be better than nothing. You would think they would have clarified whether they plan to build over it or not in the 'opportunities' section. ...

Re: Dallas Convention Center
If they go underground (3D), does that mean they can build on top of it?
3C seems reasonable enough. It likely won't be as expensive as 3D and it might help better connect the Cedars to Downtown, and I don't see it as that much of a wall.

Wow, I can't even keep up with all the changes happening in the urban core these days.
This specific area is going to look vastly different in a couple years time once some of these projects have been completed.

If I was a betting man I’d put the house on the new Goldman office being in Uptown or on the edge of downtown closest to Uptown. You have to remember $40-45 PSF Dallas rents are nothing compared to the $80-100 PSF you might pay in Manhattan. This is being talked about as a build-to-suit trophy asse...

Not as of yet, but I think that "impact" will come as Trinity Groves densifies and goes vertical. I'd expect any development around there to try and tie in/connect to it. I was just expecting at least some more development on the Design District side. I do agree though, it is definitely c...

Thanks for sharing, that all sounds good to me. We're still in the very early stages of this area being re-developed, but I'm glad some forethought is being put into all of this to make it more bike/pedestrian friendly. I honestly expected this type of transformation to happen around the Ronald Kirk...

Thanks for sharing, I didn't realize that about all of those closures. I'm not really sure. At one point, there was Mille Lire, Mudsmith, and Pints & Quarts, but all of those closed down in the last year or so. Mattito's is still there as is Steel. I think the Centrum is just, unfortunately, in an area that doesn't see a lot of foot traffic, and all the restaurants...

I'm not sure if I ever went to the one in Dallas. If I did, it obviously wasn't a memorable experience. I'm not a huge fan or anything, but it does seem like a staple touristy restaurant that would draw people to the area and give people more to do outside the Discovery District. I realize there are...

Yikes. I can't say that I'm surprised given how hard the company was probably hit during COVID. Definitely a shame that we now have more vacant office space to fill in the urban core. An additional 500 workers in Deep Ellum is still a win for the area, it's just a shame they built out such a large o...

Great news! I'll have to revisit this area to check out the Food Hall. The few times I've been to the Discovery District, it's been packed like everyone is saying. I'd love to see Hard Rock Cafe open up somewhere not too far from this area to give people another touristy thing to do in the vicinity.

So your alternative to cars sitting in parking spaces is that they're driving around in circles on the streets? Yep.
