Re: Harwood Int'l District: Harwood No. 11 (The Forum)

Harwood doesn't excite me at all as a developer. The designs are great but the final product is always underwhelming.. alot of it has to do with the height of their towers and their lack of pedestrian infrastructure. Call me when they start working with an urban planning firm that'll actually make ...

I just don't like the box on top. It's odd looking to me I agree. The box on top is not harmonious with the bottom portion of the structure. The bottom half looks fantastic. Great architecture. Could use a little more classical ornamentation, but it works. The top half looks alien. Modern trashitec...

Re: Deep Ellum: Hines Project - 2700 Commerce

I really don't understand the obsession with limiting height in the urban core of the city. We still need tons and tons of more density in the core and the only way to get it there is height. This is not just a Deep Ellum issue. What we really need is a viable public transit system--not DART--that ...

Isn't the change in Deep Ellum just more of a sign of the changing times, more than anything? The whole grunge/metal/punk rock thing isn't as popular as it was back in the 90s, so Deep Ellum today is just a reflection on how society has changed. This has nothing to do with it at all. They should have never built these arches in the first place. They look awkward and out of place. They perfectly epitomize vanity and waste. Now, if the freeway bridge had been built as one structure supported by said arches, then the arches would be fine.

Gross. This tower is way too generic for such a location. This is prime real estate that deserves something of great character, less glass, more charm, and more distinction. Dallas has been overwhelmed by generic glass towers. Needless to say, not a fan of this.

What it boils down to is simply this:
