It's an exciting compromise considering it's still very much a suburban use for the site, but I also didn't expect the West Village urbanity to pop up here. Having a decently-priced grocery store is an excellent option for the continued growth of Oak Cliff.

As the Arts District was built out in its final phase I was in planning school and started to see the cracks in the walls in the plan. Probably another Starbucks Drive Thru if anything. Just cause there is a sitdown one in West Village doesn't mean Starbucks doesn't want to have a primary drive-thru location between both sides of high-traffic Lemmon. Even considering there are two drive-thru locations on the Oaklawn side already.

The building looks nothing like a single rendering they released. I hope it works as a hotel inside and they didn't cut corners on its build-out. They certainly slapped up something that looks like it was designed by a committee afraid of doing anything that might upset a neighbor.

Yeah, I think the only thing that's up in the air here is the office tower component. This investor appears only to be involved in the Streetlights tower residential. I don't doubt that will happen I doubt the office part of the announces "phase 1"

Drove by this week, and it's coming down piece by piece. The roof was removed weeks ago, so now they keep breaking the building down into what appears to be chunks workers can lift and remove without major demo equipment.

It's a hard fight cause now the root systems are disturbed, and saving them where they at they could die during construction but also, if they are moved they are likely to die as well despite even the best efforts.
