I think the question is how big will the trees be when things reopen? The trees they used to have there were pretty damn tall and the shade was nice but nothing was growing beneath them due to the coverage being so dense.

The Gym seems like a great option for that space for sure. It was never going to be a good accessible retail space for most retailers. I would think even Trader Joes would probably suffer there.

Let me explain myself further what I mean is I assume they will be trying to allure the Cheesecake Factories of the world or Glorias or other higher-end chains into the mix and that some may open but some may not survive over a short time in the renovated center.

It would be physically impossible to build the upper tower without the lower section...

They can still leave a shell for the lofts portion if the funding isn't in place.

Actually, I think the statues at Fair Park have been made more modest than their originals. Mind you also one of the supposed reasons for removing those two and the Woolfus at Fair Park was calls by religious folk to take down such scandalous artwork.

Yeah, when the previous executives decided to pull him off the building in New York decades ago and bring him down to eye level for other AT&T campuses they had him neutered because they were also afraid of how scandalous it would be close up. It wasn't just a Southern thing.

Temporary doors, so I assume they are replacing the doors and the new ones haven't come in yet and believe me this happens all the time. When you work in construction you learn they wait till the absolute last second to order everything.

The EPIC probably makes some decision makers change their tune about the Deep Ellum station. Particularly if Uber is considering a move there and would like decent transit access for some of its employees.

I could be wrong I will admit what I know I heard through the grapevine, not an official city document or anything. My understanding is they would like to build a garage there that FBC could use and split the cost with another nearby building like what they did across the street.

I think its the perceived safety problem with the DART train/bus station and homeless combo that helps keep for purchase homes away in the West End. They put the building at the corner last I saw and the parking lot to the rear so I doubt they are building a parking garage for only a Total Wine. They even added some architectural interest to try to make the corner of the building with no door look better than the CVS in the West Village did.
