It's a noise problem. Since that direction doesn't really have a view to be blocked. Double pained glass doesn't stop all noise particularly when the construction will be ongoing and less like highway traffic noise which usually maintains as a constant buzz compared to varied construction noise.

The city needs to start considering moving its city services offices located in Deep Ellum. That's a major developable site without historical buildings to have to work around. Could easily work for someone to market a modern office, residential and retail destination.

Every Neiman's I have been in has always been a very quiet place even the NorthPark location. Their sales expectations are very different than Nordstroms, Macy's and Dillards who I would more closely judge by the number of people walking around.

I will say everything behind the gay bars has changed dramatically. Places that were long in the tooth were sold, remodeled and are being rented for just under new property prices nearby with none of the amenities. Townhomes are also picking up steam as well.

Honestly what I have wanted is another hotel in the area. Something less historical relic and more modern finish outs. The access to the nearby parks and gay entertainment district make something like that a great opportunity along with the airport not too far away either.

I went to Cinepolis last night to see Avengers and my friends live nearby in Gable Park17. I told them about the name change and I doubt they will make the switch in their heads. So basically they want to change the terminal layout to the same as every other airport that constantly has no room to build expansions of terminals. Mind you DFW was built with space from the beginning but the "finger" design does have many pitfalls.
